Current Opportunities:
Title: PROJECT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
INDUSTRY: Mining
LOCATION: Dinwiddie County, VA (35-40 minutes south of Richmond, VA)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years project management experience with increasing responsibility
- Manufacturing, mining or oil/energy fields preferred
Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for the following activities:
- Determining the full scope of the project, develop supporting documentation and work structure program
- All design, procurement, construction and start-up activities
- Project business outcomes
- Establishing objectives and expectations for implementation of all necessary project development and execution processes including staffing plans for projects, setting direction for contract personnel, contract and purchase order development and placement
- Development of commissioning plans to ensure projects reach design output while meeting production schedules
- Develop project objectives for safety, schedules, cost and operability
- Develop and implement rigorous reporting to key stakeholders
- Manage and ensure contractor engagements, including milestone achievements and maintenance of contractor activity records on all operational sites
Critical competencies include:
- Demonstrated knowledge of successful project management practices
- Ability to work in and foster a strong team environment with minimal supervision
- A strong safety champion who will lead projects in achieving “0” incidents and injuries
- Knowledge of mining facilities and integration of project work in these facilities is a big plus but not mandatory
